Pickles Catering and Greg Berner was the caterer for my son's wedding reception on Dec 12, 2009. I am writing this review in the hopes of protecting other consumers. I also encourage everybody reading this that attended our event to post similar reviews. Do NOT underestimate the power of social media and the affect it can have on highlighting a terrible company!
During the reception they ran out of food and what food they served was of very poor quality and COLD. There were also numerous problems with the way the food was served (to include pouring a glass of wine on the groom's grandmother!) We understand that accidents happen, but that combined with everything else just left more of a bad taste - literally - in our mouthes).
Greg Berner does not take any responsibility at all for the terrible food or the problems encountered with the serving staff. Greg's response was that they never discussed food temperature ahead of time. Are you serious?! They didn't discuss E-Coli or Salmonella either! We sorta figured that proper food temperature should be standard practice for a supposed certified corporate caterer-but I guess we were wrong. What about the proper amount of food - there were 6 people that had RSVP'd that did not show up, so there should have been extra food. Some guests were actually served only potatoes! Other's were not served food at all.
For a company whose mission statement includes the words "We take both personal pride & personal responsibility in the success of your event." (quote taken directly from their website), I am sorely disappointed with Greg Berner's lack of personal responsibility and commitment to his product and his customers.
This poor review could have been avoided by the owner, Greg Berner, personally taking responsibility for an event that went South from the very beginning and returning the gratuity that had been prepaid. It was not deserved or earned in any way!
We have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and will be filing a legal claim. As a business owner myself, I am appalled at the terrible customer service received from this company and the overall lack of personal responsibility taken by Greg Berner. For a supposed professional, how sad!

Provided by YP.comI was in charge of our company's annual conference. We have had a lousy experience with a caterer last year & frankly I was a bit gun shy about using a company I had never heard of. I have to say I was BEYOND pleasently surprised with the level of service we received. The food was delicious & the presentation was beautiful, but what set them far over & above to me was the level of customer service they provided. I was turned on to them by a referal & Now I am passing the word on. I would trust Pickles catering to handle my most important clients in the future!
