Provided by YP.comJosue was hired to level our yard, build playset, extend patio and add pavers to the entrance side of yard. We gave him a down payment of $2000.00 for labor and I purchased all the supplies he told me he needed. He told us adding cement would be the better option price and labor wise. I asked him several times if we needed a permit and he said no. He also said for the water issue putting a drainage system was my only option.
He showed up and installed the drainage pipes but didn’t complete it leaving the outside lawn undone for months and didn’t level the ground so now the pipes are clogged. He showed up on a machine for less than an hour and said he had to leave to use the machine somewhere else and would return to finish and didn’t. So basically he charged multiple people machine rental for the same machine but didn’t complete the jobs. He sent someone to put cement and didn’t come back in 24 hours to remove the 2x4 and didn’t finish putting the cement. Weeks later he dropped off two employees with no tools so they couldn’t work and just sat there. He rarely returns our calls or texts and when he does is to tell us he’s coming to work and doesn’t show up or call.
One day I was working on the yard with someone and he showed up and was telling my friend that he wasn’t making money off of me, that we paid him $2000.00 and that went on supplies which is a lie because I bought all supplies and materials. He was gossiping about us to the man and stated that he had other contracts that was for more money so I basically had to wait. He was really unprofessional and rude which made my friend feel uncomfortable.
I was told by some one that I needed a permit for the work that he was doing so I emailed the Orlando County Building Division and was told that I do need a permit. I reached out to him and told him and he told me I needed to do it. Didn’t even apologize for giving me the incorrect information and putting me in a position where I can get a fine and said he wouldn’t get the permit to call him whenever I get the permit. He’s so rude, unprofessional, inconsiderate and unreliable.
So I either take a day off to try to get a permit which means I’ll be responsible for his work which I don’t want to since he’s shown me that I can’t trust he knows what he’s doing or break the cement area he did and remove the clogged drains which I’m losing the $2000.00 we gave him for labor and the money I bought for materials since it will be garbage now and will have to pay someone to break and remove items.
