Victor’s Lawn is the most unprofessional business we have dealt with. They took our deposit to cut a tree under the condition that we would be notified ahead of time. We needed to let our remote-working tenant know when the work would be done, needed to be present at the time of work, and wanted to notify the neighbor over whose property the tree hung. After weeks of waiting for them to start work, and numerous communications to reiterate our need to be present, they sent one man, unannounced at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon. This job was a two-person 6-hour job! We refused their service and asked them to return when they could provide us with a firm date. Victor’s Lawn said it would cost “at least another $100” to be informed of a date and time! We requested but they refused to return our deposit.
After receiving a certified letter from us they returned half of our deposit.
As of this writing, the case is being investigated by the NM Attorney General’s office and we intend to proceed to small claims court if we don't receive return of the rest of our deposit very soon.
We have never experienced a business who was hired to work on our property but refused to say when they would do the work (and actually insisted that we “need not be present”).
We understand that people are busy and cannot specify date/time when the work is several weeks off. But, as the schedule firms up, the business should be able to commit to a date and a time when work will commence.
