Auto Chek Centers is a family business owned and operated by father and son, Richard Fuchs, Sr. and Richard Fuchs, Jr. In 1984, a new California law went into effect requiring vehicles to be smog tested every two years for registration purposes. This is when Founder, John Wilson, opened Auto Chek Centers' first Test-Only Center in West Los Angeles on November 1st, 1984. Auto Chek Centers entered the young industry with an innovative, full-service, step-by-step strategy to meet the state's growing need for smog inspections.
