Provided by YP.comi worked for city year for a few months after finishing my bachelors, my time with this "non profit" was one of the worst experiences I've had in my career. the hours are grueling (50-60 hr/wk) the wages averaged to about 2$ and there culture was contradicting in every way possible, they preached diversity and kept a great image thanks to all there corporate funding, yet were extremely oppressive to employees that deviated from there culture. they basically recruited individuals from different states (mostly upperclass so there parents could support them while they came to "save" the under privileged in LA who they knew nothing about) and post the pictures on the internet about how they are saving the world. The team leaders were often under-qualified and it showed in the way they lead and interacted with there teams. Completely disrespectful to corps members and unprofessional, i could go on and on about everything wrong with this company...
