Provided by YP.comDelicious bowl of ramen! I am huge fan of real ramen with rich, hearty tonkatsu broth. I tried the tonkatsu kotteri here and was pretty pleased. It was a large serving which I didn't finish.
Note - it's DTLA, so parking is a pain. Also, there's almost always a long wait because it's a tiny restaurant. We went on a hot summer day so it was really toasty in the restaurant. Best time to go is probably late at night, or in the winter. Their AC seems to be barely working.
I prefer the tastes of Ramen Yamadaya, but this was pretty good.

Provided by YP.comDaikokuya is one of my favorite tonkotsu ramen places in LA. If you're a fan of Santouka, Yamadaya or Shinsengumi, you would also like this place.
The place is always packed and wait time is 10 minutes to sometime over an hour; so avoid the busiest hours as possible. I like Daikokuya but I would rather go to Shinsengumi (which is 5 minutes away) if the wait is too long. Shinsengumi is just as good as Daikokuya.
The place only takes cash.

Provided by YP.comThere is a suuuuuper long wait for ramen here. We came here at around 7 Pm on Saturday and waited 1.5-2 hours for a party of three.
I don't really think the ramen is worth the long wait, even though it is decent. We got the tonkotsu and pork katsu combo -- carbs galore!! I couldn't finish everything since it was so much food.
I feel like the broth is always a little too salty and I get really thirsty after. There isn't really anything that stands out about Daikokuya ramen itself. My favorite part is probably the egg. Ramen noodles are ok but nothing special.

Provided by YPmobileBest ramen joint in LA! Get the ramen and rice bowl combo and u won't be sorry. Wait time can be long but worth it... just don't go in a big group. Cash only... there's a shady looking ATM on site if u're willing to roll the dice with ur identity. The parking sit kinda sux but u'll forget about all the hassles a few bites in. Don't be scurred!!

Provided by YP.comGreat place for ramen, the but wait can be over an hour (even outside of regular lunch hours). Come early to sign in, walk around Little Tokyo for a bit, then come back later to eat. The ramen portions are fairly large, so appetizers may be unnecessary unless you plan on eating a lot.

Provided by YP.comDefinitely one of the top ramen places i have been too. Highly recommend checking this place out - you can even make a day of visiting the MOCA and coming here for lunch or dinner. There was a wait but totally worth it.

Provided by YP.comDaikokuya is one of those hole-in-the-way neighborhood joints everyone in town seems to know about and recommends. For good reason.
Just think of this term, "rich pork broth" and all that it implies -- savoriness, saltiness, indulgence, fatty, delicious. The daikoko ramen with extra pork oil isn't something you can eat everyday, but it's a great indulgence on a cool day.
The restaurant has a "B" rating, which isn't cool, but again, not a concern for the occasional indulgence.
Street parking is expensive ($2.00 hour/meters unless you go on Sunday), so be prepared for that.

Provided by YP.comDefinitely get the Diakoku Ramen when you come here.
This is probably the best Ramen that I've had in the states. The broth is nice and heavy, firm noddles, and the slow cooked pork simply melts in your mouth.
The ambiance is very much like a Japanese Ramen noodle house. Expect to wait, and wait a while.
To avoid the wait you might want to try the locations in Monterey Park, Hacienda Heights, or Costa Mesa... but nothing beats the original especially since it's in the heart of Little Toyko.
