So I have to confess...I screw...

So I have to confess...I screwed up and was a no show for an appointment due to a calendering error on my part and would have totally understood if I had to pay a fee for this. Instead, I received the following email from the Dr. Gurnick himself, "...When you schedule an appointment at a doctor's office it is customary and expected that you show up for the visit...(thanks for the explanation as to how it works, he continues)...I hope there was not any serious reason...but I suspect you are just an inconsiderate person who has no respect for others and their responsibilities and thus you didn't make the effort, etc..." Maybe it's me...just seems to be a bit strong. I sent an email explaining the error on my part, apologized, referred to the doctor who had referred me and asked to reschedule. His response...a single word...no...

I wouldn't want a doctor that is that petty and seemingly quick to anger.

Excellent Podiatrist

He cured my painful ingrown toenail on one visit

and it never came back. It looks normal. He was

kind and is on my insurance plan.

Back to Running

Plantar fasciitis of both feet kept me away from running for 6 months. I had seen

three other doctors, spent alot of money and had little improvement. I thought I

would never run again. Dr. Gurnick taught me how to tape my feet and do home

exercises and changed my shoes and made me good orthotics. It took 3 more

months to heal and now I am back running, no pain

Plantar fasciitis, also known as heel spur syndrome can be challenging and patients often get frustrated when it does not resolve quickly. Each patient is treated with individual modalities directed towards their specific condition. In this case, daily taping was helpful to protect the ligament yet allow the patient to function. Daily foot taping is often done for plantar fasciitis along with other things to help the injured ligament to heal and make the pain go away.
