Provided by YP.comIrving is an exceptionally good school with caring teachers. The students are well monitored by the staff including our vigilent and ubiquitous security team. The prinicipal, Ms. Noble, is always searching for ways to improve student achievement. She does this by actually listening to what teachers and students say and acting for the good of the school. She is a good speaker who is great at motivating the teachers which results in the teachers motivating the students.
The teachers each have their own "house" meetings to discuss the needs of the students. Each teacher, counselor, and administrator has their own adivisory period with a maximum of 20 students. This allows students to voice any issues they may have and work as partners at Irving.
The school is kept very clean by our terrific custodial staff. They are not just people who keep the school clean, they are part of our school community.
In addition to the academic courses Irving also has several electives including: drama, horticulture, music, band, computer technology, and a few more. There are also many lunchtime clubs run by teachers. There are excellent after school programs for parents who'd like their children to supervised in a learning environment. Saturday classes are also available to assist the students in any of their courses.
In closing I'd like to say that for a safe, caring, and nurturing atmosphere, one could not ask for a better inner city middle school.
