Established in 1922, the Los Angeles Police Protective League works to protect, promote and improve the working conditions, legal rights, compensation and benefits of Los Angeles police officers. It is affiliated with the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation, National Association of Police Organizations and California Coalition of Law Enforcement Associations. The league s services include legal representation for members, contract negotiations, representation with grievances, arbitrations and unfair labor practices, and guard card and the firearm renewal processing. The Los Angeles Police Protective League operates administrative, accounting, building maintenance, insurance, legal and information technology departments. It operates a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team that responds to high-risk situations. The league is located in Los Angeles.
