Noah Lamport had been in business since the 50's with expertise in cotton goods and sailcloth when in 1962 he incorporated for the purpose of promoting "Aquaflite" sailcloth, a new product made of "Dacron ". This cloth was to revolutionize the sailcloth business and with the advent of fiberglass, help to bring the sport of sailing into the twentieth century and within reach of the average man. Through his work with Lowell North and some talented racing sailors, he developed the first "Mylar " laminated sailcloth. This "garbage bag" cloth, called that because of its green color, proved to be the winning edge in the Tornado Class Catamaran.
