The Open Magnet Charter School provides academic instruction and enrichment programs to more than 350 students in kindergarten through grade five. The school offers instruction in math and science, as well as options to participate in several athletic activities, such as hockey, volleyball, basketball and soccer. It also provides a selection of programs in art, computer technology, physical education and music. The Open Magnet Charter School organizes after-school programs in martial arts, chess, gardening and photography. In addition, the school manages a library. It administers the English as a Second Language program. The Open Magnet Charter School organizes book fairs, auctions and spring concerts. The school is governed by the Los Angeles Unified School District.
