The Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center promotes opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. The center serves individuals with mental retardation, cerebral palsy, epilepsy and autism. It is among 21 regional centers in California. The Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center offers diagnosis and evaluation, program planning, prevention services, crisis intervention, advocacy and resource development. The center provides family support on a case-by-case basis and coordinates school, health, welfare and recreation services with community providers. It assists more than 6,000 adults and children residing in the California cities of Hollywood, Los Angeles, Pasadena, Glendale and Burbank. The Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center is a nonprofit organization operated by a volunteer board of directors through a contract with the state of California. The center is based in Los Angeles.
