Provided by YP.comOn another review site I read comments that told me it may be best to pass on this place. It was 10:00 p.m. on 12/25/08 and the place I wanted to go to down the street was closed. I was visiting from S.F. Bay Area and needed some place to dine. I was seated quickly and the staff certainly were fine and attentive. The first rest room I found had no soap. I was directed to another rest room that did have soap. The review I read for this place was 100% correct. The food is okay but simply okay at best. The quality of the food cannot justify the prices. My steak was VERY expensive and VERY tough. It was made to order but it was VERY tough to swallow. The mashed potatoes was plentiful and plenty dull. The vegetables were over-cooked, though I was brought up eating over cooked vegetables. My friend enjoyed her chicken platter but it was WAY TOO OVERPRICED. I had dined that afternoon across the street at the Milky Way so I found myself comparing the two. Every food item I had at the Milky Way was scrumptious and tasted as though it were prepared by a chef that was truly inspired. (Ms. Spielberg commented to me how she LOVES her cooks and I can appreciate why.) Every food item at Shilo's seemed to be prepared by a chef who should be limited to flipping burgers. Once can tell that there is a genuine effort at Shilo's to be something other than what they are or what they are best suited for. They should change their format to a hamburger restaurant. The other review I read on another web-site suggested that the favorable reviews were posted by owners of Shilo's. And so I have to wonder the same here. As much as I dearly wish I could say otherwise to support a kosher establishment, which I regard as a precious resource to our community, Shilo's is no where near coming close to being a quality steak house. I refer you to Valley Steak House in Las Vegas and refer you to the review I had posted elsewhere for that establishment. It is worth getting on a plane and traveling to Las Vegas simply for the experience of dining at Valley Steak House in Vegas. As for Shilo's, while I have only eaten there once, for the price they fetch, I won't be eating there again very soon. Nor will I go out of my way to do so. I wish them great success.
