Provided by YP.comI've had a job every summer since I was 16 years old. My primary reason to work was to have some extra spending money, but what I didn't realize was that I was actually sampling careers to see where I fit in. I worked as a kennel assistant at a local animal hospital during the summer before my freshman year of college. It was then that I discovered what I wanted to do for my career. I decided I would to go to college and focus on becoming a small animal veterinarian and that's what I did. I have been working at the same animal hospital ever since.

Provided by YP.comThe aptly named Skylight Books is an oasis in this era of impersonal, labyrynthian mall chain bookstores and soulless online ordering. This place not only celebrates the joy of books and reading, but somehow manages to make shopping for books as cool as sipping martinis in some trendy Westside bar. Forget the nerdish bookstore clerks of the past; this bookstore is staffed by helpful young people who have clearly cracked open more than a few titles in their time. There is even a steady soundtrack of interesting music, lively and regular presentations featuring actual authors, and an unruffled feline ambling about or napping in the display window. It's a wonderful bookstore and well worth our support and business. I especially love their collection of classic literature, but they have many, many contemporary titles as well. Browse about and immerse yourself in the magic of books. Techno devices may be handy, but there is something about the look and feel and cover art of a book that is irreplaceable to my senses, and treasures abound at Skylight Books. Go.. you won't regret it.

Provided by YP.comYou may find a wider selection at Borders, but you'll find more interesting material at Skylight. Sure, they carry the bestsellers, but they carry a lot of books on local subjects and published by indie imprints.
They also carry really good selections of books within each genre, showing a real understanding of what's noteworthy and interesting out there.
Additionally, the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. If you're not sure about an author or book, I'm sure they'll be able to steer you in the right direction. They also offer online ordering now on their website.
Finally, a lot of prominent authors read at Skylight. They have a calendar of events you can subscribe to and it's only a matter of time before your favorite author shows up at this store. Authors appreciate great independent bookstores, and apparently they really like Skylight, because a slew of them make it a point to stop by Skylight to read/promote their new books.
