If you need to know anything about trees, Steve is the guy to talk to. We've had him do a few projects for us and have been consistently impressed with the quality and care of their work. They show up on time, do exactly what they were asked and leave things in better shape than when they arrived. A 100% class operation.

Steve Marshall, the Urban Lumberjack, is the consummate professional! He is intelligent, well spoken, knowledgeable, and does not give you unwanted advice. He considers your budget as well as your trees and will even tell you when he believes that his services are unwanted. He is prompt and passionate. His crew is wonderful- artists with the clippers, loppers, and ropes. They leave nothing behind except beautifully sculpted work. I will never consider anyone else again!

Steve Marshall of Urban Lumberjack gave me a very informed consultation about pruning and/ or constructing a crutch for my cantilevered Chinese Elm tree. I have known Steve Marshall for a number of years. He worked for my family and now, for me. He will tell you whether you SHOULD trim your tree - sometimes, it is the wrong time of the year! Or, trimming it may harm it of other reasons. His crew are patient and do their work efficiently and safely. I highly recommend Steve and his crew!

We've hired Steve for three projects, and for each one he has arrived at the time promised, does the work exactly as described, has never tried to up-charge us, has been generous about sharing his incredible knowledge of plants and landscaping, and is someone you actually look forward to having come to your home. He is 100% passionate about trees and plants, and it's reflected in his excellent work.

This guy is the bomb. I have an old plum tree that needs some work. Steve Marshall (the Urban Lumberjack) came by and took me step by step through what he suggests I do. He was very honest with his suggestions and was happy (as I was) to let me do the work myself. No charge.

He is an encyclopedia but will only go as deep as he thinks you can handle. I would hire him or recommend him in a heartbeat.
