Provided by YP.comI've never negatively reviewed a business before, but my experience here has warranted one. When I first came in for an appointment, I remember it being the coldest, least personable healthcare experience I'd ever had. I spent, without exaggeration, less than five minutes with the optometrist before having a prescription. I didn't like this, but I reasoned "you get what you pay for" and proceeded to purchase eyeglasses. I came in for a second appointment to get a prescription for contacts, received a trial pair, and was told to come in for a follow up visit.
Over the course of a few months, I forgot that I was asked to schedule the follow up visit. I decided recently to shop around for contacts but needed to get my prescription in order to do so. I came back to America's Best to get it and the optometrist was shockingly rude and condescending towards me. It completely threw me off guard. At one point, I hesitated when he asked me a question and he asked again, louder, with a very demeaning tone before I could answer. Not only did he speak to me in this way, but he did so openly in front of the entire store and I left the store feeling publicly humiliated. What could have easily been a friendly reminder to schedule a follow-up ended up being the worst customer service I have ever received.
Despite previously buying in to the membership club, I will never go back. I came here initially for the apparent low costs but spending more money to go elsewhere will be worth being treated with dignity.

Provided by YP.comBUYER BEWARE! This was the worst experience I have had with a healthcare provider, ever. I was suspect when the optometrist wanted me to pay almost $200 to have a procedure done for my dry eyes without offering any other alternatives. Also, my prescription was WAY stronger, and my eyesight is pretty stable. So, I went to an ophthalmologist (MD). First, the prescription the optometrist wrote was off by over a point. Also, my tear ducts were not even the reason for my dry eyes. It was allergies, which he specifically said wasn't the cause. My conclusion: if this practitioner is not a quack, he's not far from it. I WOULD STAY AWAY!

Provided by YP.comI called in advance and was told that they accepted my VisonPlus insurance. When I got there for the eye exam appt., I was told "they were a preferred out-of-network provider". Don't trust these guys.

Provided by YP.comThis place is an absolute nightmare to deal with! They got me in the door with their 3 years of eye exams for $99 membership club, but the deal is a scam. You will get your eye exam, then they will "highly recommend" you get eyeglasses along with your contacts. When they "highly recommend" it they will not sell you contacts without also purchasing eyeglasses. It took me a while to figure it out, and they honestly had me believing there may be something wrong with my eyes, but all it is with the doctor "highly recommending" glasses is a scam. At this point I still have not been able to order contact lenses because I am refusing to purchase glasses and am honestly considering a lawsuit..As the other person said the customer service is awful. The people in reception are a bunch of "chatty Cathy's", the doctor's are nice but fully in on the whole scam of the place. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone, they should be shut down for what they do.

Provided by YP.comThis is the worst experience I have ever had. I went here to get a contact lens eye exam and new contact lenses because my vision has got worse and I need better contacts badly. I paid $99 for their eye care club deal. I received a call that my order was ready for pickup and went there to pick it up. I was told I would not be allowed to pick it up because the doctor needed to see them on me. I asked when the doctor would be back so I could get my lenses and was told the doctor would not be there the rest of the week. I asked if there was another location I could pick them up at or have a doctor look at them and I was told no other location would have a doctor all week except for the location in another state out of the city. The employees there would not let me get a word in or ask questions but rather kept interrupting me and trying to talk over me which was rude considering I was trying to simply ask a question and I was not being rude with them. I called the other office which I found did have a doctor in that week before friday, so obviously they gave me wrong info. I was told that I need to wait for my original location to give me my contacts because apparently no location has trial pairs in stock. I have been walking around for 2 weeks now with bad vision because I cannot get them to give me my lenses. I can't even get my prescription because they will not give it to me till the doctor okays it. I paid for a eye exam...should I be given the prescription after my exam?! This place is awful, their employees are rude and they do not care about serving their customers in a timely manner. As well as a lack of doctors to actually see the patients. I will get my prescription and I will not be back. What a waste of money and time. I see why they are cheaper...cause their service is horrible.
