Cochrane Elementary School is a part of Jefferson County Public Schools. Based in Louisville, Ky., the school offers an honors program in numerous subjects, such as mathematics, arts and humanities, social studies and science. It also holds family nights that focus on academic/social themes. Cochrane Elementary School provides many student activities, including book club, chess club, student council, safety patrol, basketball and cheerleading. In addition, the school renders information in the field of communications through a student-produced morning news broadcast and the Cochrane Connection student newspaper. It also offers orchestra, band and a ballroom dancing performance team.
