Provided by YPmobileHorrific experience. Had a question on a security deposit check and was not informed for three weeks of a decision. Apparently even if you don't sign the lease the organization will take that check. Extremely rude to work with and had multiple leasing agents change hands over a one month period. Know similar people with this experience. Avoid these properties at all costs.

Provided by YP.comWORST LANDLORDS EVER!!! My son and I moved into an apartment in Old Louisville owned by Denton Floyd 3 months ago and we have regretted our decision each and everyday since the day we I moved in. Talk about a lack of "truth in advertising" -- Denton Floyd made sure to sell me on the fact that they are the best rental agency, with 24 hr maintenance, secure buildings, and a commitment providing a premier level of service to their tenants. Below is a paragraph from their website that speaks to what they offer tenants:
Denton Floyd Real Estate Group owns and manages some of the most desirable residential and commercial properties in the Louisville market, and we are growing rapidly into surrounding areas. Our staff of professionals understands that consistently working to improve the quality of service and attention to detail are the best ways to provide comfortable communities for the valued clients that have chosen our properties to call their home. Our residents take comfort in knowing that 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they will be able to reach a qualified professional who will promptly address any maintenance, or security issue that may arise in relation to their personal safety and comfort, or the integrity our property.
In the short 3 months we have been here it has become clear that this company is very misleading with the claims they make to tenants -- as soon as we moved in it was like we did not exist, we could not reach anyone at the office at anytime of day we called. If a message was left we never heard back confirming they received it and that our request would be addressed. We were without a bathroom sink for the first 7 weeks we lived here -- it took them that long to respond to our repeated requests. We are on the first floor of this building the the smell and cockroaches that seep up from the disgusting mess in the cellar is becoming unbearable. They offer onsite coin operated laundry --but no one want so use because it is filthy down there and you trip over the cockroaches getting the machines.
I feel like a fool because I believed them when they sold me on this unit - I trusted that they conducted business with honesty and integrity -- I am so damn stupid!!!! I count the days to when I can move out of here.

Provided by YP.comBEWARE of Denton Floyd. I have had a terrible experience with this real estate group from the moment I moved in to the present, two months after I've moved out. I was looking for temporary housing in Louisville this past summer, and found an apartment in Old Louisville listed by DF on Craigslist. The property manager was exceedingly helpful when I first contacted her all the way until I scanned the signed lease over, which led me to believe that DF had excellent management. Oh, was I wrong.
Upon move-in (I signed the lease without looking at it myself, a mistake I will never make again), I found that I was paying FAR too much for what I got-- no A/C, extremely outdated bathroom, shower barely worked, entire building smelled like smoke, lights were out-- especially for the average rent price in Old Louisville. When I repeatedly contacted the property manager about these issues (via text, calls, and emails), I received absolutely no response. I only got the major problems fixed by waving down a maintenance man who just happened to be working on the apartment next door.
Now, I wouldn't be writing this review if the problems ended when I moved out. I paid the 3 months' rent in full before moving in, which DF required because I was signing a short-term lease, in addition to a $350 security deposit. I repeatedly contacted the property manager starting from about a month before my lease was actually up about the steps I would need to take to get this deposit returned, because I had a bad feeling that I would have to jump through several hoops to get it back. I was right. After about 3 weeks of calling/ texting/ emailing her, she finally responded (via text, no less--how professional) and said that I would receive my deposit no more than 30 days after my lease ended and I turned in my keys. When I went to turn in my keys, the employee took down my name and forwarding address--but did not tell me they would be mailing me the check to my address, because apparently he did not know that DF returned security deposits via mail. About a month passed and I called to check on the status of the deposit return. I was informed that they did NOT have a forwarding address on file--big shocker, the man wrote my address on a POST-IT and they obviously did not have a system in place. So, I passed along my address and was told they would promptly send my check. A week passed--called and they told me once again "accounting has been notified, you'll be receiving it soon." Nope, it's been about 3-4 weeks since I first called, and still no check even after maintaining contact with the employee I first called. How long could it possibly take to write a check and stick it in the mail?! Apparently 2+ months?!
So, my conclusion about DF is that I'm either being scammed out of my money, or they are just exceedingly incompetent. Either way, NEVER lease from Denton Floyd if you want to save yourself money and many headaches.
