I stopped in to your clinic today at 4240 Shelbyville Rd. Louisville, KY 40207 around 5:45 as a follow up to a Saturday visit with the nurse practitioner, who was very helpful and caring. I went to the clinic because I don't have health insurance, or a primary care physician and had been sick with a bad cough and sinus congestion for several days. The APRN on saturday diagnosed me with sinusitis and bronchitis and prescribed antibiotics, a steroid and something to help with my cough. As we were finishing up, she mentioned that I should be feeling much better very soon, and that if my symptoms had not greatly improved in 48 hours to come back.

Today, since I was not feeling better, I returned to the clinic, as I was instructed to do. The nurse practitioner today was a different woman, who I have actually seen once before. She did not tell me her name. I told her of my Saturday visit and mentioned that I would prefer not to have to pay for another exam(my original exam was $94.00), unless she felt it was very necessary. I told her how I was feeling, fevery, achey, neck pain, but that my congestion and cough symptoms had improved. She proceeded to list various over the counter aids for congestion, suggested that I do some stretching and lose weight. Both would be wonderful facets of a long term health and wellness plan, but I don't feel would improve my current cold-like symptoms in the least.

She assured me that I didn't have "anything serious" and probably wasn't dying. She also thought that my neck pain could perhaps be caused by my "very large breasts." While it's true that I do have larger than average breasts, the discomfort that I'm feeling now, is in no way related to that feature of my body.

I am a reasonable person, I know there is no miracle cure to my symptoms, be they viral or bacterial, but I returned to the clinic as I was told to do, in hopes of treatment. Not only did the nurse practitioner today offer no help, she managed to make me feel worse, a feat I didn't think was possible on my walk into your store.

When I saw this woman previously, I must admit, she rubbed me the wrong way, but I know we all have bad days. Today I left your store feeling unheard, neglected, preached to, and insulted. I'm writing this because I know that I can't be the only person this woman has offended.

I will not return to this clinic for fear of meeting this nurse practitioner again, she is neither sympathetic or professional.
