BEWARE! They killed my dog. I took my 9 year old Australian Shepherd to see Dr. Catherine Daley in internal medicine after being referred by my vet for breathing problems. We agreed on a CT scan, rhinoscopy, and potentially a biopsy if she found suspicious lesions in his nasal passages. She did the scope, there were irritated areas, but she was pretty certain it was rhinitis and no cancer was present. She continued with the biopsies anyway. When my dog was waking up in recovery the spots that she biopsied began to bleed again. They put him back under, his heart stopped and they were unable to get him back. The biopsies later confirmed no cancer. I think that they overdosed him on propofol. They did not offer an autopsy and we were too shocked/upset to think about it until the next day when it was too late. I believe she only did the biopsy to increase our vet bill as it requires an overnight stay, additional lab work, etc. She has no bed side manner and we were not allowed access to our dog's chart or her notes - it took several weeks to get the full picture of what happened. Go to Blue Pearl I wish I had.

Provided by YP.comI would never recommend anyone take their pets to MVS. They quoted us a ridiculous amount of money to care for our dog. When we told them we just wanted temporary care until we could get our dog into our vet’s office, we were talked down to like we didn’t care about our dog’s wellbeing. They did a half ass job on everything (my vet’s office even commented on how poor of a job it was the next day when they saw my dog). In a spot that MVS put 4 staples to close up a wound, my vet put 13 (pictures attached). One of my dog’s staples came undone BEFORE we left MVS. We asked them to fix it and the doctor said it didn’t need to be re-done. Why do it in the first place if it wasn’t needed? The next day we took her to our regular vet’s office, and the cost to do everything (and more) that MVS wanted to do was less than ¼ the cost Metro wanted to charge us. The receptionists were very nice but the quality care we received was horrible. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone - they’re only in it for the money.

Provided by YP.comI had to take my dog in on Memorial Day and they were as nice as they could be. From the front desk to the technicians and the vet herself, everyone was polite, friendly, and concerned for him. They told me when I called how much the visit would be but I like that. We went home with some meds.

Provided by YPmobileMy dog had surgery here. The people her are cold and rude. The girl that checked is didn't even look up at us when checking us out. No charge was even discussed with us. We love our dog and agreed ex what was said to us. If these people don't like there job then they need to go somewhere else. We will never return.

Provided by YPmobileBeen a client for over 10 years, spending around $20k. Clearly this isn't about money & not necessarily about the qualifications of the vets. This is all about Metropolitian's attitude, crappy attitude, organization wide. From the front desk, to the vets & owner, the arrogance & dismissive behavior stinks! Just for your info Randall, sorry goes a long way, but I shutter to think what would happen if your lips ever utter words that are conciliatory. Moved on & very satisfied with Blue Pearl in KY & GA.

Provided by YP.comWorst Vets ever....I had to rush my dog there for emergency surgery and all they wanted to do when we got there was to talk how much the operation was going to cost me. After a "sucessful surgery" my dog died 36 hours later, with no reason given..just that 'these things happen" Then just two hours later, Dr. Neat was calling to see when I was going to make payment arrgements.."hopefully before his day off". Then everyday for a week he left harassing phone messeges seeking payment. Dr. Neat and Dr. Yates never once gave our family condolences or showed any sorrow for our lost. They come across as arrogant and only concerned with money. They have a very unprofessional attitude and show extreme disrespect for our dog and our family. If you want to keep your pet alive...AVOIDE -Metropolitian Vet. Emergency Services

Provided by YP.comDr. Graehler and Dr. Cummings are the best! Their bedside manner was awesome, and they really brought relief to me very quickly. We were referred by Ft. Knox Vet Clinic, we drove over an hour, they took right back to a room and Dr. Cummings came in and talked to us. He did a consult with Dr. Graehler, then we met with him and answered ALL of our questions. Within hours he called me to tell me everything went great, then he called our vet at Ft. Knox to catch him up on what had been done. I am so relieved they were able to take care of us so quickly and it was worth every penny. I understand, they want to make money too and can't just hand free care to every injured animal....so I thought their prices were very reasonable. I mean this in the best way, but hopefully we never have to go back, if we do at least I know we'll be taken care of. :-)

Provided by YP.comWe are very thankful for the way Wicket was treated during her many stays. She had people that we knew would take good care of her and call us if anything happened. We had three more years with her because of Dr. Campbell and his great staff. We will never be able to thank them enough. We miss WICKET so very much but we know she received the best care.. One thing that made her stays easier was she liked the staff and trust them too. A very special thanks to all of the staff for all they did for "our little girl".

Provided by YP.comI believe that my pet had pretty good care here but they were not honest and forthcoming about the costs.I believe that all the costs are padded heavily. They will charge $30.00 for a small bandage and $20 to put it on. We were charged about $500.00 more than we were told. I thought people worked with animals because they cared. We all have to make a living, but come on.

Provided by YP.comI've read bad reviews here and there about MVS and quite honestly, don't understand it. I have had nothing but good experiences with MVS with two different animals about 3-4 years apart with two different vets there. It's a beautiful facility with top notch vets and staff. I truly believe that I would not have my dog Zoe alive today if it were not for the skills of Dr. Neat and Dr. Campbell. She had a colorectal tumor removed 18 months ago at age 10 1/2. She is now 12 and acts and looks great. She even initiates play with her 5 year old 'sister.' Everything was explained to me clearly by both Drs. Neat and Campbell. I never felt any impatience from anyone there if I called up to ask a question or think that something might be wrong. My calls were always returned. I know that you can run up a bill, but hey, they are specialists. It's the same for us two-legged humans. You can always buy pet insurance (in advance, of course). I'm so glad that they have been able to expand the number of doctors they have there compared to just a few years ago. It's a GREAT service to have this in the Louisville area and our pets deserve the best.
