I would first like to mention that the store is very clean and the majority of the staff is friendly. I walked in this store and was greeted by a gentleman who later saw me looking at the tougher dog toys. He asked what kind of dog I have and recommended a toy that he stated was long lasting and that his dogs loved it. I ended up purchasing the toy he recommended and three hours into having it home, my dog tore through it. I then read the return policy and went to the store a few days later to return. The girl up front stated she did not believe I could return but would have her manager make the call. The manager stated that due to it being used and broken, they could not issue a refund or even an in-store credit. The return policy on the back of the receipt and the website state "If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you can return it to one of our retail store locations. Items purchased in-store can be returned with a receipt within 60 days for a full refund in the original form of tender." There is nothing stating that the product cannot be returned opened or used. How can a customer be satisfied with a product if the item has not been used? Petco either needs to update their return policy or train their staff better. Only reason for the two stars is the clean environment. Would like someone from Petco to reach out and explain the return policy better so that I can positively update the review.
