Over priced quoted $2,000 to cut and remove a tree from my property. This included grinding the stump. Called another tree service who did a fantastic job for$1,250. Pays to shop around to avoid inflated prices.

Just yesterday, Phelps took a giant cottonwood tree out of our backyard. A large portion of the tree was over my and my neighbor’s house. They deconstructed my fence to get the trucks in the yard, and put the fence back together just as they found it. They also did a great job grinding the stump, which was not easy because there were a lot of obstructions around the tree trunk. The site was completely cleaned before they left site. Except for the large missing tree, my yard looks exactly like when they arrived. And the best part, their bill was exactly as their quote. I just saved myself A LOT of money compared several other estimates I received. Thank you Phelps.



Unlike teresaadams, I would highly recommend Phelps to anyone wanting professional tree service at a very good cost.

We had a large, dead hack berry tree next to our deck that needed to be removed. After getting quotes from four providers in the Louisville area, we decided to use Phelps, as they provided us with the lowest, written quote to remove the large, dead tree with a crane. We agreed to wait more than 4 weeks for the service to be performed because of the cost savings. Unfortunately, after postponing the work scheduled to be done on Friday, they decided on Monday morning, an hour after the work was scheduled, that they would need at least $1500 to perform the work they originally agreed in writing to do for $650! Mr. Phelps actually told my husband that the original quote was based on the fact that "they didn't have that much work to do a month ago and that's why I bid $650." So now that business has picked up a 150% increase in the quoted price is justifiable???



We have several large trees in our back yard and have used four tree service companies in the past to remove dead or felled trees. We have never had such a negative experience as we have with Phelps Tree Service. Potential Phelps customers, beware of any quotes you receive from Phelps. Based on my experience you cannot trust this company at all! I'm also filing a complaint with the BBB.

Very impressed with the job and cleanup afterwards. I would recommend them.
