We purchased a garage door 2 years ago. Our garage door rail separated from the wall and now cannot open, also cannot be disengaged and our vehicles are trapped. We looked up the warranty and within 3 years they cover so we called sears to help us. Once speaking to them they said this would be warranty work and that it would be November 30th before anyone could come out to even look at it? We called on November 18th 2016? 12 days?? They stated that due to not having enough techs that they could not do anything for us and if we used another company our warranty would be voided all together?? Really? Of course as I questioned their responses I got hung up on twice seeing I personally feel 12 days without our vehicles or any means to get anywhere is not acceptable at all. They basically said we had no choice but to wait.. wow.. sears obviously does not want your warranty business due to their techs not doing proper installation in the first place.. we will be using another company moving forward to fix this issue and will be sending the bill back to sears to reimburse us because this is ridiculous.. I would suggest that anyone shopping a garage door company to use someone other than sears or risk having the same issues.
