Provided by YP.comI was a patient at this facility being treated for Bipolar Illness and substance abuse. A lot of the staff there weren't qualified to work with the mentally ill. I received therapy only once while I was there. The staff were unable to run the unit properly. In the shower there was feces and a strong urine smell. I don't think the bathrooms were cleaned at all while I was there. That hospital was one of the most depressing places I've ever been to. Not clean at all and it was obvious that a lot of the staff didn't want to be there. I finally put a three day notice in. I went there to get better. I left in worse shape than when I was admitted. Having been a case manager at various psychiatric hospitals I would say that this hospital is one of the worst facilities I've ever seen. I would never go back there. *The Lowell Treatment Center was permanently closed in 2018 because of safety and health violations.

Provided by YP.comI am a former patient (I was there as an adolescent years ago) and I am still recovering from my extended stay there when I was 15 to treat depression and anxiety that stemmed from a sexual assault. I'm 28 now. The staff were horribly abusive. I was over medicated and they weren't listening to myself or my mother about taking me off the medication....the 9 pills they put me on. In fact I now know that many of the meds they had me on make me extremely ill and suicidal...they wouldn't have known as they added on new pills left and right. Sometimes they would put us in quiet rooms for extended periods with no light and they wouldn't check on us after panic attacks. They even did this with the small children in the child's ward next to us...sometimes they ran out of room next door and would put the little kids in our quiet rooms and those kids would pee their pants in the rooms cuz they were locked in there so long. It was a horrible place. Keep your kids out of LYTC.
