Mike Rodríguez ripped me off painting my deceased mother's empty house. period. Paid him half in advance. Promised the work to be complete in 3-4 days. Two weeks later, still working at it part time. Painted over wallpaper without either removing it, or priming it to receive ive paint over it. Didn't use drop cloths! Paint splatter all over the tile and wood floor. Paint splatter on kitchen appliances, molding, doors, counters and bar top, then tried to scrape paint off the counter/bar top with razor blade, taking finish off, leaving ugy white scars. Didn't know how to repair cracks in ceiling, although he said he could when I interviewed him. Then he called when he said he was about finished; could I pay him balance, as Thanksgiving was coming and he wanted to pay his guy so he could have a nice Thanksgiving. Big mistake on my part giving him the benefit of doubt. Paid him balance, then he doesn't call back to make appointment to meet me when I discovered all the above. I knew then I'd been taken, and he could not repair or clean up the damage he caused. Told him to give me keys back and get out. Bottom line; buyer beware (hard lesson for me). Don't hire Mike Rodríguez of Mike's Painting. Talks a good talk, but doesn't deliver quality.

I never write reviews (everyone says that, but I really never do), but this one is absolutely necessary. Mike Rodriguez is completely unprofessional and quite frankly, a joke. His business is nothing of the sort. We hired him to pain in our brand new house. He claimed to finish what we needed in a single day. His pricing was affordable, so we hired him. He was late the day he showed up and was by himself when he said he would have other workers with him. He got paint on our carpet in the master room. He left spots on the ceiling, outlets, and trim. Besides that, he finished less than half the work. My husband and I were understanding and said he could finish it the next day. After 2 hours of waiting for him, he called saying he was not going to make it. He said he would come the next day. Again, no show. For the last week and a half we have been calling constantly to try to get him to finish the work. He was supposed to come today and he did not show. We will now lose money since we paid him up front and it is clear he is NOT a man of his word and will not finish the job. He has zero integrity and work ethic. Find ANYONE else in Lubbock to do the job besides him!
