The Lubbock area has many claims to fame among them Buddy Holly, Texas Tech University, our emerging wine industry, and Pedros Tamales. What began in 1977 as a small tamale kitchen in the back of a downtown warehouse is now a multi-million dollar tamale manufacturer, distributing all over the U.S. The business might never have developed at all if Pete Pedro had not liked tamales so much. He could only get good quality tamales in Lubbock at Christmas and Easter, and this was never enough for him. In late 1977, to satisfy his cravings, Pedro started making tamales.

my employment position requires me to visit Lubbock several times a month and one of my favorite things to do when I rolled into town was to stop by Pedro's and grab some tamales or a breakfast burrito, however in the past few months that I have done so they never seem to have the items to make burritos, and if you ask for tamales they only seem to have one kind or they tell you they just put them down and will be 30 minutes before they are done. My question? Why advertise you have this items if you are not going to have them when a customer orders them, last week when I did manage to get some tamales on my way out of town however when I ask for hot sauce they young hispanic man that was working at the time was extremely rude and informed me that they were out and if I still wanted my tamales or not. I will not be returning!!!!
