Apparently if your not white you get the small to go cups since that’s all non white people can afford and have to wait on your to go order so everyone inside can get their food and eat!!!

I've only tried some bakery items there and they weren't bad (though a bit too sweet for my taste), so I can't vouch for the cafe food. But the place itself is not the cleanest. I saw food on the floor and some dead cockroaches in the corners. Stuff besides the bakery seem the cheapest you can find (both the hot chocolate and the spiced tea are instant). The girls working there seem totally indifferent to customer service. They weren't mean but it's pretty clear that they are bored and more interested in chatting in the back kitchen than cleaning up the place. A shame, since it has a lot of potential.

At the suggestion of my son's girlfriend's mother, who had used Sugarbakers for cakes before, I went in & ordered a 9X13 red velvet sheet cake with buttercream icing for a surprise party. I ordered it decorated for Tech graduation with "Congratulations Jayme" & the double T on the top.



It was ready when they said it would be & was in a huge box. I looked in & was a little shocked that I was paying $40 for a cake that looked like it had been decorated for a 1st grade end of school party! The writing was in blue & the double T looked like it had been done with that icing in a tube from United, very thin. It was maybe 1 1/2 inches high. It also had some random white chocolate shavings on it and red flower looking "dots" every couple of inches on the edge...totally juvenile! (I asked if I could see pictures of some Tech cakes at the time I put in my order & the salesperson said there were some on the internet - NOT!



I took the cake to the party site & my son's girlfriend was appalled. So much so that she bought another cake at Market Street the afternoon of the party, for about half the price, that was used as the centerpiece. I was going to take my cake back & complain to management & demand a full refund but with it being so hectic over the weekend I didn't have time to do anything with it except leave it in the box til Monday. By that time I had decided to taste it, thinking that probably my chance of getting a refund was very slim and that I would let them know of my dissatisfaction. I have to say it tasted delicious! However, the decorations were ridiculous....needless to say I won't be using these people again. The 2 stars are for taste only!
