My wife placed an order for a 20x20 tent he told her it would be $85. Upon further review no it was actually $100 after they tacked on their fees. That did not include setup or delivery. When I checked our account we had a bill come out that we forgot about. My wife called to cancel the order and he was extremely rude told her that they have to pay a 3% fee which would be $3 for our cancellation. He told her it was ridiculous and hung up after issuing a cancellation. I called him and he said oh so you're the one who's going to call and give me a hard time. I said no I just wanted to speak to the manager apparently he owns the place or something. Anyways he hung up on me. I drove in and offered them their $3 in cash because it's not their fault we couldn't afford it. After speaking to a lady she said no they are not charged we would be rather than issuing a $100 back to us we would only get $97 which I was ok with. Anyways this man is so extremely rude has apparently been rude for years. I will never ever do business with them again. And I will be sure to steer anyone I know away from this terrible company.

Rented a skidsteer from this place, after using it, I loaded it up and noticed a flat tire, after inspection for an object in the tire I noticed that the tread was completely seperating from the side walls. Called the shop and the owner had a HUGE attitude about it, telling me that there should be a spare on the trailer, which there is not, then proceeded to curse at me over the phone. Never again man, never again. This was his one and only freebie... People, DO NOT rent from this worthless company, make this guy feel the hurt of his self righteous prick ways.

My first impression of this place was great - The owner, Jim, was friendly & had absolute great customer service. However, once everything was delivered it was an entirely different situation. I arrived expecting everything to be set up and that was not the case. The Tent was up but they did not put up the side walls or lights (both were still wrapped in boxes to the side & several of the lights were broken). The tent itself looked beat up, having tears and I doubt it had been cleaned in years. The chairs were still stacked in a sleeve & ratcheted shut - Once we took them out we found that they had not bothered to clean them after their last event - they were covered in cake and mud! If I could go back I would've chosen another company.

The owner is extremely rude. Could not give me any idea when he could deliver tables for a wedding. He thought I was completely stupid for asking about a delivery time. Planning another wedding and will rent tables and chairs some where else this time.

Steer Clear.

I went in to rent a hammer drill. I sensed attitude from the guy right from the start. He wanted to know what I was going to be using this drill for. When I told him, he said that it wouldn't work and tried to rent me a bigger one for 75 dollars a day. I told him no, I wanted to smaller drill. He said that he refused to rent me the smaller drove because he didn't think it would work. We argued, and I left totally pissed off. I will never do business with this company as long as I live. This man has no customer service skills whatsoever. And quite honestly, I have no idea why anybody would be a return customer.

I remember when i had my first beer..

WOW!! That is ironic!! A few friends of mine had a get together a few days back. When we returned our coolers the man there was very rude, iconsiderent, and to be completely honest he reeked of booze. He came to "help" unload our truck and when he got there we told him the tailgate was broken. He had a disgusting look on his face and said well that's nice. We apologized and he said yeah whatever. When we reached the destination that WE carried them too he opened the coolers and starting yelling. And i quote " Wow i didn't know people were so inconsiderate these days!" We said sorry sir what did you say. He said that we should have been smart enough to wash out the sand. We said sorry we have been so busy today and didn't think to look inside we thought they were clean. Then again he replied you could have washed the sand out. Then he slammed the coolers on the ground and said next time I will be charged with a deposit. (As he does damage throwing them down!) If you hate your job that much do not continue ruining other peoples days. So citizens of Ludington if you want a good laugh run down to Tye one J rentals and bring some dirty coolers. You will notice immaturity and rudness all in one package. I WILL NOT RETURNING TO TYE ONE J RENTALS AGAIN. Well maybe if it was the last store on earth, and even then it would be hard.

Rude business owner

My family rented some coolers for a get together we had on a Saturday afternoon. They were not open to return the coolers on Sunday, and Monday was packed returning many other rented/borrowed items early in the day. The coolers were due back by 5pm, and we rushed to get them back by then. In the rush of everything, we didn't wipe the sand off the cooler. When we pulled up to return them, the owner came out and whipped one out of the back of our pick-up truck. He made several comments about the minor sand on the cooler. I explained that we were just trying to get the coolers back on time, and i apologized for any inconvience this may have caused him. He said he was adding cleaning to the contract from now on, and said not to worry that he had our names and would charge us extra next time, and would keep our deposits in the future. Well not to worry to you Mr. Tye one J.. we won't be giving you our business ever again!

Disappointed

Be sure not to have any equipment failures or expect a discount if you do. They will try to blame you for anything that breaks... Belts, etc… I had a belt break on a piece of equipment and went back to get a new belt, replaced the belt all on my own time and they would not compensate me for the time lost and accused me for being the one that broke it...
