An Interesting Start State Savings Bank of Scottville was founded in Scottville, MI on June 30, 1898. The first Board of Directors meeting was held in Detroit on July 25, 1898. The Directors were C.W. McPhail, President, M.L. Willliams, C.A. McPhail, H. G. Flint and M.A. Flint. The Bank first occupied a one-story brick building on the west side of Main Street. C.W. McPhail was the first President of the Bank. Total resources were $17,000. Our Goal of Making A Real Difference West Shore Bank stands by the statement of Making a real difference. But what does this really mean and look like? How can a bank make a difference? As an institution, it cant but as a group of committed people working together, it can. Each year, as a team we set plans, initiatives and training programs around this promise to ensure that we stay focused on achieving our vision of improving the financial well-being of the West Shore community through the banking services we provide.
