Dr. Martinez was attracted to a career in the healing arts after retiring from serving in the military for 21 years. During his military career Dr. Martinez had suffered injuries in a motorcycle accident, leading to prescription medication for relief from neck and back pain. Over time the medication did not effectively alleviate his pain and discomfort, and one day a friend recommended he visit a chiropractor to see if that would help. He did that, and after six months of chiropractic treatments the pain and discomfort were resolved, and the medication no longer needed. The experience and knowledge Dr. Martinez acquired during his chiropractic treatments led him to recognize this important alternative way to help people, and he came to understand the power of the body's self-healing abilities. Dr. Martinez went to Logan Chiropractic College where he became keenly aware that today's standard practice of medicine often leads to sizable doses of medication to prevent a disease from getting worse. Then other medications are prescribed to counter the side effects of the initial dosages, sometimes leading to serious drug dependencies and addiction. To understand this further and help patients suffering from it, Dr. Martinez attended the American College of Addiction and Compulsive Disorders. Recently, Dr. Martinez has focused on nutrition, and the significant impact it has on patients' health. This led him to further education in the field and the insight that many of the chronic diseases we face today are actually manifestations of malnutrition. His comprehensive health and wellness program has permitted many patients to understand their situations more clearly, and discover how they can improve their health to optimum levels, naturally. Dr. Martinez applied this knowledge to improve his own health and capture the simple steps to reduce cholesterol, improve blood pressure, and feel the beneficial effects of optimal health and wellness.
