Located in Lynchburg, Va., Adult & Family Services maintains Altavista Group Homes, Amherst Counseling Center, Appomattox Group Home, Bedford Counseling Center, Haley Center, Hudson House and Forest Hills Group Home. It is one of the services of Central Virginia Community Services, which offers behavioral health services to the central region of Virginia. Central Virginia Community Services serves people with mental illnesses, and substance abuse, as well as offers community education, early intervention, treatment and aftercare services. Established in 2002, it is certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. The center conducts various administrative programs that include human resources, information technology, and reimbursement and fiscal services.
