Provided by YP.comI have moved to Lyndhurst a month ago and the board of ed refusing to register my child because I'm missing a pice of paper. I do understand they need a proof of residency which took me weeks to get all the papers , even I had to get one notorized saying that my husband and I bought a house. My daughter is 8 years old she had been going to school in the us since she is 3, she was born in the us , however I took her to Hungary for 6 months and without a discharge paper they refuse to register her. She went to a charter school when she was 6 and they held her back for a year and she did had a half year before I took her to Hungary. Now without the discharge paper from Europe they making her to do first grade the 3 time!!!!. In Hungary they start to work in the last week of August in the schools so that swhen I can get some papers. which Im getting but now I need to get it translated which they only excepted it from the embassy will take me another week and will cost me lot more. So why can they register my child before. I refuse her to be registered in and to got to first grade again and when the paper come they put her to second. That would be horrible for her, Why can she start in second grade ?? I don't get it . Now they wanna test her? is it legal she should only go to second grade? She is 8 years old. Why do they talk to parents in Lyndhurst Board of Ed in patronizing way because I'm an immigrant ? or because I have an accent- I don't get it I have my education form here I'm a US citizen....
so No idea . bad experience all together , I do regret moving here.
