The Lyndhurst Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that provides services for the safety and welfare of the public. It has a detective bureau that is responsible for conducting follow-up investigations of reported incidents, as well as works with municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies. The department conducts various community outreach programs, including home security surveys, personal safety, vacation notifications and bicycle rodeos. It offers a School Resource Officer program (SRO), which is a nationally accepted program that involves the placement of a law enforcement officer within the educational environment. The Lyndhurst Police Department has been operational for more than 100 years and is located in Lyndhurst, N.J.
