Founded in 1836 as one of the first women-only colleges, Wesleyan College offers various academic programs, such as biology, history, French, international business and psychology. Its athletic activities include basketball, softball, cross country, tennis and soccer. Wesleyan College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) and the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. The school is a member of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, the American Association of University Women, the American Council on Education and the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges. Wesleyan College maintains a presence in Macon, Ga.
