In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm or pot roast at 8 am - we've got something for everyone. Enjoy your meal in our family-friendly, cabin-themed diner with our welcoming staff or order to enjoy in the comfort of your home.

I ordered breakfast to go, biscuit and gravy on the side. I specifically requested no gravy on the biscuit. The hash-brown was burnt to a crisp, the links sausage were under cooked and the gravy was poured over the biscuit. The lady who took my ordered package up my ordered and saw my food and still gave it to me without caring. She seemed somewhat rude and prejudice. When I got home and saw my food, I called and requested to speak to a manager I left a message to date no return call :(

I had made arrangements with R...

I had made arrangements with Robbie the manager for our Retiree’s Group to have lunch at the diner. Robbie was both helpful and very professional. We were accommodated even thou the diner was very busy with other patrons and we were sitted right away as soon as we arrived. Our waitress was Juliana. She was very courteous, attentive, professional, and friendly, she would continuously be there to refill our drinks and I believe that we were served as soon as the food was cooked and placed in the plates.

The food had a very good taste (I had an omelet) and everyone had different types of food, were served almost all at once and I believe everyone enjoyed what they had ordered. No one had a long to wait and as I said before the food was good and hot.

Food was great and the server was awesome. I would recommend this diner to all my friends and look forward to having our group luncheon there again.

Desserts To Go!

On 08-27 we were om your Madera Diner and had a wonderful meal. Upon leaving we decided to purchased your pies to go. We were very much disappointed in them after we got home. (We live approx. 20 miles from the diner) The Strawberry Pie Crust was doughy and the strawberries tasted like they were not ripe. I had also ordered a Coconut Cream Pie to go and when I got home, much to my surprise, it was not a Coconut Cream Pie but instead it was a Banana Pie and, unfortunatly, I do not like Banana Pie. Also, we purchased an Apple Bear Claw to go and when it was opened the next morning we discovered that the item tasted like it was ferminted with the taste of alcohol. We were very disappointed. The money we spent on these items was just wasted. The meal was great!! but the pies and bear claw were such a disappointment.
