Southeast Curbing & Concrete
1106 Nolan Blvd, Madison, AL 35758
There are two basic ways to install decorative concrete: 1 ) Incorporate it into a freshly-poured slab. 2 ) Use a concrete overlay system to give your existing slab a fresh canvas on which to work. Southeast Curbing & Concrete, LLC specializes in resurfacing existing concrete. The ability to transform existing concrete from lackluster to spectacular is the driving force behind the recent boom in decorative concrete coatings. We offer a wide array of concrete coating options, specializing in stained and textured concrete. The single most important factor in concrete resurfacing is how well the existing concrete is cleaned and prepared. The most beautiful finishes are worthless if they will not bond to the concrete. The cleaning methods employed by Southeast Curbing & Concrete, LLC are unsurpassed in the decorative concrete industry. Most contractors simply pressure-wash the concrete, if anything, in an effort to prepare the concrete for the decorative coatings. And while pressure-washing removes surface dirt and debris relatively well, it does not remove deeply embedded soil or residues that bind to the surface. Southeast Curbing & Concrete, LLC uses a rotary floor scrubber with an aggressive nylon-bristle brush, in conjunction with an eco-friendly concrete detergent to clean all of our jobs. After scrubbing, we pressure wash the concrete using a hot water pressure washer to remove all debris from the surface. Much like doing dishes, hot water is the key to this step. Cold water pales in comparison to hot water when it comes to cutting oil and greasy residues. This method cleans the concrete completely, and ensures that the existing surface is ready to be coated. Cleaning and preparing the concrete is the most common area where many contractors cut corners. Coincidentally, it also the leading cause of decorative concrete overlay failures and durability problems.
