Probably the busiest state park in the CT state park system. Facilities are clean as long as they have the staff with the motivation to keep them clean. Not so easy given the size and customer volume of the park. Help the staff maintain your park by cleaning up after yourselves. Avoid the campgrounds and main beach if you are seeking a “quiet” park experience. Beach beyond Hammonasset Point is the best place to go for quiet seaside experiences, but watch your footing.
