terrible

I ordered a 2000 sq ft home through Shoreline September 07 and it arrived November 7th, 07. From the beginning I had problems with Shoreline and especially with their buttoning up crew, Sunset Associates which did the remainder roof, garage, gutters, vinyl siding, inner sheet rock, staircases, etc. For starters, the modular company knocked out 15 feet of curb when they delivered the units and Shoreline will not take responsibility plus their men buried my driveway put in by the foundation guy. Shoreline was to oversee the subcontractors and I signed a contract for the amount of 16,000, 6,000 I paid which they have threatened me over and over again (the 9,000) to put a lien on my house. The work done by their main subcontractor was shoddy to say the least. Shoreline did have the roof (condemned by 3 outside roofing companies) replaced completely after five months and I give them credit for that but they kept pushing the Sunset Associates subcontractor that was lousy down my throat and I refused to have them in my house since they lied and did terrible work. Problems were as follow. The garage was not framed right and the opening was too big for the overhead doors. This was remedied but I had to argue over this. The siding was too short in places and had to be replaced. The subcontractor put siding and shutters around a crooked window and I had to argue with the subcontractor about this to get it put right. The modular is mostly carpeted and the carpet pad is so cheap it squeaks as if stepping on bubble wrap One door cannot be closed since the framing is off. The caulking in the master bathroom went bad immediately and is all brown and cracked. One wall has a five inch split in it from the factory not from settling. A new shower basin had to be ordered and was put in crooked, not level and had to be reinstalled. Because of this the shower tile is not flush with basin and wall so it is coming off. As of this time, I have duck tape holding the tile on. The outside stairs are wobbly and nails are sticking out. The gutters leak between the fascia board and the gutter. A gas fireplace was ordered with the modular but came with the wrong parts and has no dealer in this area so I cannot get anyone to fix it. So the owner of Shoreline has put a lien on the property.
