The Sullivan House is available for public tours on Mondays and Fridays at 3:00 through October. The Sullivan House will be closed August 18 and September 1 - 4, 2023. Please arrive a few minutes before to pay and meet your tour guide. Tickets are $5 for adults, kids and students are free. No reservation is required. The tour lasts approximately 45 min. Built about 1820 and considered Madison’s first mansion, this stately Federal-style structure was home to one of Indiana's early leaders. Virginia-born Sullivan had an esteemed career as a lawyer, Indiana state legislator, and State Supreme Court justice. Sullivan is credited with suggesting the name “Indianapolis” for our state capital.
