Provided by YP.comI have been taking my small (ferrets) and large pets (dogs) to healthy pet going on three years. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The clinic is clean and organized.
I have not had any bad experiences with the staff and found them to be very nice and understanding when circumstances such as having to put a pet down occur. They ask how I'm doing and I get a card about a week later letting me know they are sorry for my loss.
I trust their opinions and love how the vet lets me know about different treatment options. Being a younger adult on a budget who would also do anything and everything for my furry family, it is great see what can be done and the cost associated with it.
I would highly recommend this vet to anyone and everyone, especially if you have an exotic pet.

Provided by YP.comI'm not sure what vet clinic unhappy went to but I don't believe it was this one. Our 5 year old ferret, Tinkerbelle, began to display signs of Adrenal Disease during the fall of 2010. After taking her to many local vets in upper Wisconsin, all of which told us only 2 places in Wisconsin were able to do this particular surgery. Healthy Pet and the UW Vet Hospital, we called The UW Vet Hospital. The UW Hospital was a complete outrage, much like what unhappy wrote about. Cold, callous and completely upsetting when I was informed that if I truly cared for my pet their estimated 3,000 dollars for the surgery would be a small price to pay. I love my pet like one of my children, however, like most I cannot put my family on the street for a vet bill.
Completely disheartened I called Healthy Pet fully expecting to get the same treatment. To my relief this was not the case. The staff was friendly and understanding on the phone. The office was clean and well kept as any vet I had been to. Dr. Cristman was very knowledgeable and friendly giving me her prognosis, potential treatments as well as the benefits and risks associated with each. The final decision was left in my hands, we opted for surgery.
Surgery day was pins and needles, more so because the trip down to Madison from our home was better than a 2 hour drive each way. We dropped Tink off at the designated time. The office staff was again friendly and reassuring. They knew our trip was lengthy, offered ideas of places and sites in the area to keep us occupied while the procedure took place as well as an offer to call them if we needed any directions or help within the city.
The surgery was completed on time. They kept Tink under observation until 3 pm at which time they made sure she was both fed and had gone to the bathroom on her own. We were sent home with detailed care instructions, complications to watch for, antibiotics, pain meds and emergency numbers in case of complications after hours.
3 - 4 days after the procedure we were contacted and asked about Tink's well being.
Today tink is a healthy, fluffy ball of energy, almost a completely new ferret. I attribute this to the care that Dr. Cristman and her staff were able to give Tink. I will and do recommend pet owners to Healthy Pet when they have ferret issues their owners can't address with their local vet clinics.

Provided by YP.comIf you love your pet, do not take them here! This place is filthy, unorganized and run like it was owned by chimps. The office staff has no clue of what they are doing and the doctors are uncaring and cold. We lost our beloved ferret due to complications from surgery that her doctor recommended and we foolishly trusted. (Keep in mind her doctor had been a friend of mine since grade school.) We ended her struggle at an emergency clinic and we notified the office of her passing. Not one person from this clinic even bothered to call, email or send a card acknowledging our loss. The most beautiful, loving ferret in the world is gone because we trusted them. Please, do not make the same mistake!
