Rented a town home here for a year. When we moved in there were holes in cupboards, a leaking dishwasher,a ripped carpet and the grout in the tiles was so dirty it took almost a month of daily scrubbing to get it to a point that wasn't disgusting to look at.

About 7 months into living there the sewage pipe from the building which is shared among 3 or 4 homes backed up and water overflowed from toilets in multiple locations. When we asked to have the carpet that was soaked through replaced, due to negligence by the property owner, we were told we could rent a carpet cleaner and have 100 dollars removed from our rent 1 month. After only a year we decided we could no longer live in this cesspool with our children and moved out.

Of course it should be no surprise at all that the landlord will not return any letters, emails or phone calls in regards to why he has not given our security deposit back.

There are much much nicer places to live in Madison WI, avoid this one like the plague.
