Established in 1981, the Oakwood Foundation works to attract volunteer and financial support to meet the needs of residents at Oakwood Village West and Oakwood Village East. The foundation offers financial assets and funds for programs, services and facilities, as well as the renovations of current buildings. The Oakwood Foundation also operates the Continuing Care Endowment Fund, which assists resident who deplete their own assets while paying for care at Oakwood Village, which is a Lutheran church-sponsored organization that offers services to serve physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs.
