The Madison Streets Division collects, processes and disposes solid wastes and recyclables. The division is also responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness and snowplowing of city streets. Located in Madison, Wis., it removes weeds, as well as operates a disposal site for hazardous wastes. In addition, the Madison Streets Division offers refuse collection services to city residents. The division is a part of the Madison Department of Public Works and Transportation, which operates through water utility, fleet service and parking divisions. In addition, the department s engineering division maintains various public streets, bridges, underpasses, sidewalks, and wastewater and drainage systems. The Madison Department of Public Works and Transportation designs, supervises and inspects street, highway and bike path constructions.
