The Hopkins County Jail protects the citizens of the county and the commonwealth of Kentucky, as well as provides a safe, secure and humane environment for the staff and inmates in carrying out the mandates of the citizens, Kentucky legislature and the courts. It also provides opportunities for inmates to acquire skills that facilitate noncriminal behavior. The jail supports the Substance Abuse Program, also known as the Get a Life Substance Abuse Program, which covers several areas of concern for individuals recovering from drug and alcohol abuse. Located in Madisonville, Ky., the Hopkins County Jail also supports rational behavioral training, substance abuse education, relapse prevention and group counseling programs.
