.Doon Grade Ranch is NOT clean. After signing a rental agreement found out that I could not feed my horse in a manger. No bedding was allowed in stalls . Paddocs were not cleaned at all so did it myself. Keeping an inclosed area clean prevents the over use of worm medication. A pasture was available but was not allowed to use it. Picked out a stall with extra large paddock. 2 months later found out that without my consent they moved my horse up to the barn which has very tiny paddocs and the barn is extremely hot in summer. I got evicted one day after paying my 3 months rent. Found out from former trainer that the owner was mentally ill and would go into the barn with gun and threaten to kill all the horses. That same trainer who kept her two horses there , both her horses died after she had to leave for two days and the auto water devices broke down. One horse died out right , the other was taken to UC Davis but died anyway. They bred some type of horse so the best barn and pasture were reserved for their horses. Do NOT board your horse at Doon Grade Ranch. Its a rip off. People hired to tend to cleaning are under paid and don't care a jot about the welfare of any horse boarded there.

Doone Grade ranch is a clean professional boarding facility it has a large arena, several round pens and a beautiful camp ground with individual small corrals for your horse. The ranch is about 40 acres of gentle hills surrounded by pines, firs, and cedar trees. Located a few miles below Sterling city there is access to literally 100's of miles of trails and dirt roads. Day use and memberships are available at reasonable rates. Make an appointment and check it out!
