The Magnolia Volunteer Fire Department, also known as MVFD, works to protect lives, property and the environment from the threat and occurrence of emergencies. It provides services that include fire prevention, business inspection, and search and rescue. The department covers an area of more than 300 square miles. The Magnolia Volunteer Fire Department responds to over 2,700 incidents annually. The department is the first fire department in Montgomery County, Ky., to fully operate on the National Incident Management System (NIMS) infrastructure. It is funded through the Montgomery County Emergency Services District. The Magnolia Volunteer Fire Department maintains a fleet of fire engines, water tankers, medical response units, rescue boats, and grass, ladder and cascade trucks. The department is located in Magnolia, Ky.
