Parents beware! If your child is not friends with an administrator's child, they will be second-class citizens. Speaking as a former teacher there, it was heartbreaking to see an administration that proclaims Christianity to treat students this way. The pace of the classroom teaching is determined by how well or poorly the "well-connected" students are doing- not by any legitimate educational standards. The headmaster created the school for her own child who was not finding success in public school, which is a noble endeavor to be sure, but it also means that the standards are made to be best for her children first and foremost, regardless of the repercussions it has on your children.
I can tell you first-hand that your child's privacy is NOT PROTECTED. We had a student enroll who had some blemishes on his permanent record, and I sat in a classroom while the "counselor"? at the time came in and discussed this record in detail with the entire grade of students. Why? So they would know to look out and "not be temtpted" by him. Horrifying. Administrators and parents who teach at the school OFTEN disparage or gossip about students in front of their own children, who are also students, or with other parents, and it can really alienate some of the kiddos who haven't grown up with this group.
Even more alarming, there is essentially no accountability for any misconduct from leadership. It is unfortunate because there are many good-hearted, well-meaning educators there, but because the school makes no effort to align itself with any established college-readiness standards, there is no way to REALLY know if your money going towards a true college-ready education. Additionally, if the school fails to meet your expectations, you have no recourse but to cut your losses (money and your child's precious time) and move on. The school board is comprised of many of the headmaster's close friends, which creates a blatant conflict of interest. Leadership without accountability is a very scary situation that I can't imagine putting my own child in. Don't risk it!

We have been at Legacy for nine years, and we love the families, teachers and other students! It is a rigorous educational experience centered on Christ's Word! We have been able to participate in sports, NHS, Praise Band, theater and many more fun activities. We are thankful that our children have been able to score high on nationwide testing they do each year, and we feel they are being challenged academically as well. But mostly, we love the community of family and people that we get to do life with......it has been such a blessing!

My two daughters have attended Legacy for seven years. I can say that enrolling them in Legacy was the best parenting decision that we made. Not only did my wife and I get to spend more time with them as they were growing up, but we also had an active part in their education. My 11th grader will be taking pre-calculus and dual credit classes with Lone Star College this year. This is a rigorous curriculum and my girls have had to spend hours at home to keep up with the course work. The program has taught my daughters to be self-disciplined with completing their homework with no direction from me. They have learned to communicate directly with their teachers via their Chromebooks whenever they have questions about their assignments. The grading system and school structure becomes more like college as you advance through high school so that it is a smooth transition to college for the graduates. Both of my daughters are college ready and they still have 2 and 3 years left at Legacy. We are very pleased with our decision to send our girls to Legacy.

There have now been 4 graduating classes at Legacy and graduates have been accepted at the following schools:

Abilene Christian
Baylor
Concordia
Dallas Baptist
Elmira College (New York)
Fresno State (California)
Grand Canyon University
Hardin Simmons
Houston Baptist
McMurray U.
Millsaps College (Mississippi)
Mississippi College
Oklahoma State
Oral Roberts
Rider (New Jersey)
Samford
Southwestern
St. Edward’s
Sweet Briar College (Virginia)
Texas A&M
Texas Lutheran
Texas State
Texas Tech
U of H
Incarnate Word
Mary Hardin-Baylor
New Mexico
North Texas
Oklahoma
Vasser College

The 2017 graduating class was eligible for $1.41 million in merit-based scholarships.

Terrible experience from the front office to the teachers. There was a caring environment - however, no academic rigor at all. Very disappointing academics and the headmaster clearly has her favorites. Stay away from LPCA.

We have been at Legacy for six years, and it has been such a blessing. We have four children at Legacy and the academics are challenging, the teachers are well-qualified and the small class sizes are wonderful! Legacy has testing they do each year (although they do not "teach to the test"), and our children have scored high each year on these tests. But, not only are the academics excellent, but it is also given through a biblical worldview. They are getting challenged not only academically, but spiritually as well. We also love the community of families at Legacy too! We are very thankful for this school!
