Just got off the phone with this location, because for a few weeks my mail was return to sender due to my normal mail man being on vacation and there being a sub in his place. The gentelman (I use that term lightly) Joe,that answered the phone was so rude, i had to hang up on him. i was laughing saying I don't know what you are looking for from me. I am looking for you to do your job thats all! Now i have to pay to get a new registration $25 out of my pocket for their screw up! terrible customer service!

Shoddy phone service

I received a notice today to call the USPS about a second notice of a certified letter from Social Security (I am disabled currently). When I called the local branch at 781 322 4685 to ask about the status, I found myself speaking to a gentleman with something of an accent. When asked about the notice, he asked for the date it was written, then proceeded to tell me that despite the note at the bottom stating when the item would be returned, it had, in fact already been returned!!! He also seemed to speak in something of a snotty manner, which got worse as the call progressed...despite my own attempts to stay polite. In fact, he was telling me to just come to the post office to talk to him...

When I asked to speak to the supervisor, I was told that I was speaking to the supervisor..whereupon, my husband wanted to talk to the man (ever try talking to two people at once? It did nothing for my mood to have the Postoffice person on one ear and my husband on the other ear..)...whereupon I handed hubby the phone...by then the man had hung up.

A subsequent call to the 800# let me know that no, the letter had NOT been returned to Social Security. IT's being redelivered on Thursday...no thanks to the post office in Malden.
