This guy has the carpentry skills of a kindergartner!!! DO NOT HIRE!!! I am now in the process of stripping an entire deck made of Azek this knucklehead installed last fall. I have to buy all new material, and pay a new guy to fix all of his bone head mistakes. Cost me more than $10,000! I am taking him to small claims court to recoup my costs of buying a whole new deck, replacing the one he attempted to build last fall. Guy is a loose cannon who shows up a few hours a day and took two months to half finish what he started!!!!! DO NOT HIRE!!!!!!!!!! didnt even want to click one star but i had to, deserves nothing!!!!!!

I usually don't say anything unless I can say something nice.I think I am very reasonable with expectations. I also had to deal with him ignoring what we discussed.He is unreasonable . He is busy complaining about all his customers. He forgets or does not care what they have to say.Perhaps he lacks the skill other than to piece his work together as he goes.(that is what my deck is) Today I had a company come look at finishing the project as Mikes idea of "done" is a wreck. I had hoped the bones were strong but it seems they are questionable too. Stay away , this guy does not care what he leaves you with or if your happy. He does a great job at beginning making you think he has all this pride in his work, don't believe it. Its all about how he can cut every corner and stick it to you because your out of line expecting something for your hard earned money . Can't even give him a star.Spare yourself, I beg you.The ap forces me to give a star as I presume it did with predesessors.

Never in my life have I ever given local business a bad review, but it has to be done. Do not do business with Decks Unlimited (Michael P. Nelson) of Malta, IL. He was completely unreasonable to work with and did the exact opposite of everything we discussed for the project. He boasts of 30 years’ experience and his 5 year warranty, but his workmanship and character show otherwise. Judgment was awarded in my favor for costs of repair to deck through Small Claims Court. Homeowners beware of Decks Unlimited (Michael P. Nelson)!

Do NOT do business with this company. Michael P. Nelson, the owner claimed to have 30 years experience building decks. We gave him a sizeable down payment along with additional money to obtain a village permit. He told us he was getting the permit to start our deck, but he instead proceeded to tear down our deck and start digging without actually attaining it. He then spent 2 weeks arguing with the village inspector attempting to gain an exception regarding the village code, even attempting to find a loop hole by presenting a plan for a deck that was detached from our house after we told him we didn't want that. Two weeks later and now into the month of November there is still no progress on our deck. Instead of resolving the issues after the village inspector wouldn't budge, he decided to dissolve the contract. He came to get all his equipment but has yet to provide us with a refund of our deposit. He will not return our calls. BEWARE of this Business.
