Ben Stillman, Psy. D graduated from the University of Virginia with Distinction in 1998. After receiving his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology (Doctor of Psychology) from Loyola University in Maryland in 2005, he completed an internship at Emory University and a post-doctoral fellowship at Georgia State University. While there, he worked in the student counseling centers in both settings. He has also provided training and supervision to other clinicians and instructed graduate level counseling students. Since then, Dr. Stillman has worked in a variety of treatment settings including outpatient, inpatient, and residential treatment settings providing care for a diverse population of people with diverse clinical needs from severe, acute mental illness to people who are working on their own development, improving wellness, and addressing their own unique growing edges. Today, at Taconic Psychiatry, he provides both individual and couples psychotherapy. He uses a psychodynamic relational treatment orientation, which focuses on the ways in which significant relationships with others informs how we experience ourselves and how we experience others. Dr. Stillman continues to hone his skill as a clinician through ongoing continuing education. He is also engaged with both the Vermont Psychological Association and American Psychological Association. When he’s not in the office helping others on their journey to obtain wellness, he enjoys the wonderful running and hiking trails Vermont offers, playing with his dogs, traveling, and spending time with his family.
